Conway Stewart have joined forces with famous Maki-e artist Kogaku-san to produce this luxury, handcrafted, designer pen. Kogaku-san has used many of the best Maki-e techniques to create his exquisite design featuring Karyoubinga, a celestial maiden. Inspired by Oriental history and the treasures of the Shosoin Temple, Kogaku-san used Bokashi Maki-e, a shading techniques using gold powder and bamboo and also Hirame Ishimeji, Togidashi, Tsukegaki and Kingane Urushi lacquering techniques to create this exquisite and classic Oriental design.

Each Karyoubinga pen carries both the signature of Kogaku-san and the Red Seal to show that the Maki-e art is of the best possible quality.
